Acitretin may cause slow growth in children and/or bone problems. Contact a pediatrician for the use of this medication in children. Do not donate blood for at least 3 years after you stop this medication and also whilst you are taking it. Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had any liver disease, as this medication may cause damage to the liver. Women : Do not take this medication if pregnant or planning to conceive in the next 3 years. This medication may harm the fetus. Do not take any medication or any kind of food and drink that contain alcohol. Combined with alcohol this medicine remains in your blood for a long time. Consult your doctor about your diet. If you think you have conceived whilst on a course of treatment with this medication inform your doctor immediately. Consult your doctor on what forms of contraception to use at this time. Inform your doctor about any and all medications that you are taking in any form. Men : This medication in a small amount may be present in the sperm. Ask you doctor if this may be harmful to your partner, especially if they are pregnant or planning to conceive.
